Vong Vieng floating fishing village - Halong Bay

Vong Vieng fishing village also known as Vung Vieng fishing village, located in the peaceful bay, about 30km northeast from Bai Chay tourist wharf. This is a floating fishing village which the locals inhabited since long time ago, containing the peculiar cultural and precious historic.

Although Vong Vieng fishing village located on the sea, but own a village gate which is probably can not find elsewhere in the world, because it's a gorgeous and huge stone arch by nature. Looming behind the village gate is a blue water area and calm like a lake surface.

Vong Vieng floating fishing village has over 60 households with 300 people. Compared with other fishing villages on Halong Bay, this is the second largest village after Cua Van fishing village. People here live on floating houses and rafts, located close together along the edge of rocky islands.

- The locals mainly earn their living by fishing and seafood farming. Here also has a market - a kind of floating markets where goods are food and drink from the mainland, such as meat, vegetables... will be sold for the floating houses by bamboo boats.

Daily life in Vong Vieng floating fishing village takes place on the sea, but not monotonous. Their calling at a distance and rowing live up the atmosphere of the quiet bay. Especially, when the floating village has a festival or wedding, you will hear the locals sing teaser songs with fun melodies.

Currently, Vong Vieng fishing village residents participated in tourism, and also build a culture floating house for community events, showcasing the fishing gear used to catch fish... thereby visitors will better understand the livelihoods of fishing communities for centuries.
