Luon cave - Halong Bay

Luon cave in Halong Bay

Luon (tunnel) cave is located on Bo Hon island, Halong Bay, about 14km south from Bai Chay tourist wharf. This is an enclosed group of islands, those connect with the sea via a 4-meter-wide, 100-meter-long, and 3-meter-high mouth.

Luon cave looks like a big arched entrance leads, which you can pass through the island by kayaking or bamboo boat. Then, you get to a tranquil lake with blue water, surrounded by luxuriant trees and high jagged stone walls.

- On the cliff, the monkeys run to and fro in groups, fig trees shade the landscape and many orchids hang their sweet-scented flowers. The researchers also found the traces of freshwater snail shell fossils in the cliffs, suggesting ancient humans had resided here since long time ago.

This type of caves in Halong Bay is not many, and its charming scenery is the harmonious combination between mountain shape, water color, cloudy sky, green trees... and boat trip, make Luon cave become an attraction with those interested in exploring.
