Phong Nha cave - Ke Bang national park

Phong Nha cave

Phong Nha Cave is the second biggest cave in Vietnam, with a currently surveyed length of 44.5 km. Its entrance is the last part of an underground river that connects with the Son River and tour boats can penetrate inside to a distance of 1,500 m.

Phong Nha Cave boat trip is the most popular excursion in the region and it’s a spectacular river trip. Boats in Son Trach village cruise along the Son river, jagged limestone peaks and church steeples to the cave’s gaping mouth.

When the boat enters the cave, then the engine is turned off and you’re transported to another world, as you’re paddling through the cavern after cavern. It’s a surreal experience, except for the garish lights that illuminate certain formations.
