The Vietnamese call the paddy fields of Tam Coc as the Green Sea. A visit to Tam Coc basically consists of a three-hour boat ride along Ngo Dong river beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The boat trip route also includes floating through the three natural caves, the largest of which is 125 meters long with its ceiling about 2 meters high above the water...

Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam under Dinh Dynasty, and Le Dynasty in the 10th and 11th centuries, a magnificent citadel with large-scale, wide to 300ha. Surrounding Hoa Lu ancient capital is the majestic limestone mountains, and almost covered on three sides East - West - South, creating the solid bastions of nature. Inside were embellished by winding Hoang Long river, and the green paddy fields with the squares like a chessboard.

Bai Dinh Pagoda is famous for its great size and beautiful architecture, and also well-known for its record number of huge Buddha statues. It is considered the largest complex of Buddhist pagodas Vietnam. Bai Dinh boasts having the biggest bronze Buddha statue in Southeast Asia, about 100 tonnes in weight, and two huge bronze bells. Through the corridor in the Bai Dinh Pagoda area, you will see a lot of (500) Arhat statues, each 2.4 m high and weighing about 4 tonnes.

Time to visit Ninh Binh

The rainy season from June to September. The dry season from October to May next year.

- The peak tourist season from January to March lunar calendar. During this time, Ninh Binh has a few big festivals as the Hoa Lu festival, Thai Vi festival, Bai Dinh festival... attracts large number of Vietnamese tourists.

- The most beautiful time to visit Ninh Binh is about 2 weeks late May to early June. Paddy fields in Tam Coc - Hoa Lu became a brilliant yellow carpet between karst limestone populations.
